In a review of last year’s Trendupp Awards ceremony, we had an impressive number of over 100,000 during our Call for Nominations. While our official 96 nominees prepared to receive recognition for their content, engagement and consistency, we selected our top 16 winners with the help of our distinguished judges.

Trendupp Awards 2023 Winners and Categories
The Trendupp Awards has been recognising and rewarding winners in our 16 categories with an overall category — “Force of influence.” As we prepare for a bigger event this year, check out our winners from 2023, their categories and what it entails.
1. EMERGING FORCE — @LAYIWASABI
Layi Wasabi won the “Emerging Force” category. He was rated as the next big deal on social media and has since experienced tremendous growth in this space.
2. FORCE OF TIKTOK — @SOFTMADEIT
Softmadeit is a sensation in the TikTok world. In 2023, he commanded the highest engagement & virality power on TikTok, earning him the winner spot.
3. THE FORCE OF COMEDY SKITS — @TAAOOMA
Taaooma proved to command the highest engagement and virality power in the comedy niche, which won her the category of the “Force of Comedy Skits” in 2023.
4. FORCE OF INSTAGRAM — @SHEGGZOLUSEMO
Segun Daniel Olusemo (Sheggz) of Big Brother Naija also had his moment of celebration as he won the category of “Force of Instagram.” Numbers and evidence point out that Sheggz, as a nominee in this category, had the most engaging content and virality power on Instagram.
5. THE FORCE OF TWITTER — @BENHUNDEYIN
Benjamin Hundeyin dominated the Twitter platform in 2022/2023 with meaningful and impactful conversations and threads, leading to his award in this category.
6. THE FORCE OF ONLINE SENSATION — @UNUSUALPHYNA
Ijeoma Josephina Otabo, popularly called Phyna, was nominated and won the “Force of Online Sensation.” She was recognized as an influencer who found a way to break through the noise and commanded attention in social media.
7. FORCE OF YOUTUBE — @BRAINJOTTER
BrainJotter (Chukwuebuka Emmanuel Amuzie), beyond all doubt, commanded the highest engagement & virality power on YouTube based on votes and judging criteria.
8. THE FORCE OF VIRALITY — @LEGEMIAMII
LegeMiami (Adams Kehinde) has mastered the art of making lasting impressions. From 2022 to 2023, he created content that commanded a high number of reposts, likes, shares, and talkability, making him the winner of “Force of Virality.”
9. THE FORCE OF TECH CONTENT — @KAGANTECH
Kagan Tech (Oladapo-Ogunsanya Segun) has found a way to use content to communicate technological leaps and information in easily digestible and laudable ways. This approach earned him a win as the “Force of Tech Content” in 2023.
10. THE FORCE OF LIFESTYLE CONTENT — @THISTHINGCALLEDFASHIONN
Nonye Udeogu, popularly known as ThisThingCalledFashion, has consistently produced content that has spiked engagement in her niche. The Force of Lifestyle Content award category recognised Nonye as a winner for commanding the highest engagement and virality power in her lifestyle niches from March 2022 to March 2023.
11. THE FORCE OF CREATIVE ART — @IAMITOM
IamItom (Frank Itom) proved to command the highest engagement and virality power in his video content production niche. This Force of Creative Art award recognized creators in the Art niches, including painting/drawing, writing, video content production, and dancing, among others, between March 2022 and March 2023.
12. THE FORCE OF FOOD CONTENT — @OPEYEMIFAMAKIN
Opeyemi (Opeyemi Famakin), a famous food critic in Nigeria, won this category for being able to infuse creativity into his content. His approach to commanding engagement in the food niche between March 2022 and March 2023 was recognized by netizens and the Panel of Judges, earning him a win.
13. THE FORCE OF WELLNESS — @APROKODOCTOR
Aproko Doctor (Dr. Chinonso Egemba) consistently delivered his health content in an engaging way. This has earned him the “Force of Wellness” category three times consecutively.
This category awards a content creator and influencer who uses social platforms to engage the public in improving their well-being and health.
14. THE FORCE OF SOCIAL GOOD — @SEYI OLUYOLE / @DREAMCATCHERSDA
Seyi Oluyole won the category for the Force of Social Good. She was singled out among other similar nominees for clamouring/speaking up for the social good of the community/country between March 2022 and March 2023.
15. THE FORCE OF COLLABORATION — @1XBET.NIGERIA
1xBet was also recognized and awarded as a brand with a force of collaboration between March 2022 and March 2023. This award category fits brands that strategically identify and leverage impactful partnerships with content creators/Influencers.
16. THE FORCE OF INFLUENCE — @MRMACARONI
Mr Macaroni, with real name Adebowale’ Debo’ Adedayo, won the “Force of Influence” 2023 award and was given a brand new car. This is his second win, as he also earned this award category in 2022.
The “Force of Influence” category is our overall award presented to a content creator or influencer who commanded the highest influence in the Nigerian social media space.
